This campaign, with the collaboration of 252 Veterinary Care Centers around the country, was aimed at alerting the population to the importance of vaccinating dogs and cats as a way of preventing many serious diseases some of which are fatal to pets.
Throughout the six month duration of the campaign, a line up of Portuguese celebrities of notoriety such as Maria Duarte, Adelaide de Sousa, Sandra Coias, Diogo Valsassina, Nuno Távora, Quimbé, Rui Pêgo, Pedro Reis, Gonçalo Uva, Paulo Vintém and Ricardo Carriço all gave their support to this important cause.
In marking the closure, an event was held this week on February 8th at the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown in Lisbon, where Merial announced their donation of an amazing 3659 doses of vaccines for Portugal’s needy/stray dogs and cats .
“With the campaign ‘One for All’ which is now ending, we hope to have played an important role in changing attitudes and behavior of people towards their pets (dogs and cats) regarding vaccinations. Even with the difficult times in the country’s economy, we cannot skimp on the prevention of diseases of our best friends, “stated Pedro Fabrica, Veterinarian and Marketing Director at Merial, Portugal.
