Dignity and respect for animals are common values to any supporter of animal welfare. This belief requires us to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks per year on behalf of those who are forgotten in a society increasingly steeped in a financial crisis that is primarily a social and human devoid of values. Because we believe that values are not permanently lost, Aanifeira, Animalife, Animarco, Pata Vermelho together with the help of Adopção de Animais (Animal Adoption) have decided to unite their efforts in this noble cause and create an event that, with the participation of everyone, will be the first of many events of this nature.
This coming Saturday, December 3rd at 8.30 p.m. for the first time ever in Portugal, the very first Charity Ball totally in aid of animals, will be held at the magnificent and recently restored historic palace Pousada Palacio do Freixo which is considered one of the city of Porto’s ‘jewels in the crown’.
In addition the event will have the special participation of two Portuguese public figures sympathetic to the animal welfare cause, Joana Pinto da Costa and Cláudia Jacques, who will not only join with other celebrities in highlighting the problem of abuse and neglect of animals, but also to stress that this is a noble cause and should be seen and treated with respect by society.
This charity ball will also have the presence of the renowned dance troupe “All about Dance” along with many other surprises in store for guests. Backing and help will be also be given by events organizer Nowashow from Vila Nova de Gaia.
A nominal entrance fee of Euros 20 per person is all that is asked to participate in this first of a kind event here in Portugal. All proceeds will be divided between the non-profit shelters Aanifeira, Animalife, Animarco, and Pata Vermelho to help them continue their work in saving animals in Portugal.
